  If you are searching for a church home to call your own, I highly recommend Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood, MS. The love is so thick that a person could cut it with a knife. There is a strong sense of community, family, and brotherhood. Skillfully led by Brother Jerry Mixon (interrim pastor), IBC is a wonderful place to cultivate your Christian character. Brother Jerry has a sense of humor that readily puts people at ease. He also has a knack for taking difficult concepts and making them extremely easy to understand. His lovely wife is warm and loving to the church members. She is a delight to be around. It's easy to find ways to serve God at this church. The choir accepts new singers with open arms. There is also a praise team which performs special music. Sunday School is highly interractive, fun, and enlightening. A person misses a lot of he misses Sunday School. The classes are taught by Spirit-led teachers who value and pray regularly for their students. Wednesday night supper is always delicious and currently costs only $5 per person. There is a prayer meeting and Bible study after supper. Men will enjoy The Brotherhood, which meets for breakfast once a month and enjoys a very uplifting devotion. The Brotherhood has been known to participate in community projects as well, such as building handicapped ramps. The Women's Mission Union serves God in many ways, and getting involved is as easy as attending the meetings. All women are encouraged to participate. The youth have activities at IBC and are blessed with mission trips, concerts, camps, etc. There's no possible way to get bored at this church. There's too much going on and too many ways to serve! It's and uplifting place to worship! Try Immanuel Baptist Church and you will probably find your permanent church home!
